Gospel Truth Magazine Review -
"By My God"
|
| |
Fort Wayne, Indiana native Diana Bush-Harris has released her debut with an adoration to God and a sincere desire to reach the listener to encourage an intimate, personal relationship with the one true God.
Diana's voice expresses an evangelistic heart, a warrior in prayer and a spiritual pursuit of man to receive the love of God.
Whether singing contemporary or as Diana calls it, "Ole School Anointing" Diana conveys a heart of worship along with the support of background singers who affirm her through their own melodious response.
Diana serves as Minister of Music at Imani baptist Temple, is active in evangelistic outreaches and frequently ministers on the TCT Network.
With striking offerings such as "It's A Pleasure To Say Yes", "Above All Gods", "Praise Is A Pavilion" and "The Way You Love Me" you find yourself pondering the love God has given you and how He chooses to regardless of our shortcomings.
By My God is a present. It is a gift waiting to be unwrapped, and who doesn't enjoy a gift that brings you joy.

A GIFT OF JOY -
National magazine lauds Diana Bush-Harris

"I’m committed to serving people through inspiration and empowerment.” So says Minister Diana Bush-Harris about her debut CD, By My God, a collection of gospel songs she wrote and performed. “The songs on my CD are meant to inspire, uplift and dispel personal fears and reservations people may have about God’s blessings and love for us,” Bush-Harris explains. “I want people to understand God cares.” Over the past ten years, Bush-Harris has served as music minister for several churches. Now, she’s being introduced to a national audience. By My God has been featured in Gospel Truth Magazine, one of the nation’s leading gospel publications. A review in the magazine’s January 2005 issue calls Bush-Harris’ CD “a gift that brings joy.” “I was pleasantly surprised to get a write-up in their Spotlight Review,” Bush-Harris smiles. “They receive thousands of solicitations from people hoping for such an opportunity. I feel very blessed they chose to review my release.” Not only does the magazine applaud Bush-Harris’ work, the issue includes a sampler CD featuring a song from By My God. Minister Bush-Harris calls the CD’s mix of Christian and gospel messages “Chrispel.” “Yes, it’s my own word,” she laughs. “It means a combination of Christian and gospel music. I think it’s appropriate because it represents diversity. Although I’m the executive producer and songwriter, I’m not the only featured singer; By My God also features others lifting up their voices to deliver a message of God’s love. It also features local musicians as well.” Born in South Bend, Bush-Harris’ family moved to Fort Wayne when she was five-years-old. The ninth of ten children, she graduated from Wayne High School and went on to work in social service and radio. Later, she worked for the Fort Wayne Police Department. “I left in October 2003 to devote myself full time to ministry.” In addition to pursuing her recording career, Bush-Harris is a minister of music at Imani Baptist Temple. “After a time of careful reflection, I was led to approach her for her humble spirit and unwavering commitment to traditional and contemporary worship,” says Reverend Bill McGill, Pastor of Imani Baptist Temple. “She understands music is a means of preparation for hearing the Word preached.” “I come from a ministerial musical family and I’ve been writing since I was 15. I have two brothers who are pastors, sisters, nieces and a mother who ministers,” Minister Bush-Harris explains. “Nothing I do is possible without the support of my husband and son, community encouragement and other key behind the scenes people. They are the wind beneath my wings. I want to continue enhancing our nonprofit ministry so it can be a blessing to others.” Minister Bush-Harris studied music and business at Taylor University, organizational leadership and supervision at IPFW and psychology at the University of Saint Francis. She plans to finish her bachelor’s degree in biblical studies. Her critically-acclaimed CD, By My God, is available at the Anchor Room Bookstore or you can visit her website: www.dbharrisministries.net

Evangelist Bush, it has been our pleasure here at WHTJ 1690-AM Indianapolis, IN to share your CD with our listening audience. As President/General Manager of this station, I personally feel that God anointed you to share the messages of each song to the world...for such a time as this.
If I would select a favorite, my choice would be "IT'S A PLEASURE TO SAY YES" because that song speaks what's in my heart to God. (Your powerful delivery of it tells me YOU are excited to give God a "YES!")
"BY MY GOD" is more than a CD of music. IT IS MINISTRY!! I feel this fact has a two-fold message: It speaks to those artists who are tempted to (only) "entertain" their audience; It speaks to the conscious of every born again christian artist to bless GOD as they bless His audience...through the "MINISTRY" of music!
JOY PRODUCTIONS COMPANY looks forward to your sharing in our next "JOY AWARDS" celebration AND at other times!
MAY YOU SOAR AS THE EAGLE IN ALL OF YOUR GODLY ENDEAVORS...ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!

By KELLY RoYAL kroyaZ@IIeWs-sentineZ.com
Singer-songwriter Diana Bush-Harris is making waves..While she may not be new to the national gospel scene, lately it's
clear she's coming into her own as a performer and evangelist in her hometown.
Music has always come from a personal place for Bush-Harris, who grew up in Fort Wayne in a family that sang and worshiped together.
It took a journey away from faith and onto the streets for Bush-Harris to realize the importance of the GOspel and what she feels has
become God's purpose for her life. '
"I don't walk in ignorance in myhelping other people," said Bush-Harris, now 43 and married to J.C. with one son, Ronald. "I was in it, but I was 'not of it; God gave me with wisdom and brought me away from it."
With a strong belief that people have a deeprooted desire to be "better than what they are," Bush-Harris accomplishedjust that. The music just started to flow to her, she said, and God blessed her with songs on the spot.
Having served as a choir director, lead solo
ist, and now as the minister of music at Imani Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Bush-Harris feels fortunate the music never left her. "Music is how I say 'God loves you.' I know because he loved me. I see my music as a gift from God, first to me then to the people."
The 2003 release of her CD "'By My God" won
Bush-Harris critical acclaim in Gospel Truth magazine, which described it as "a present... a gift waiting to be unwrapped."
"It's pretty rewarding when you step out in faith and people receive you like that." Bush Harris said. "There is real meaning and impact when your vision is beyond you."
The process of bridging the gap between the
music she heard in her mind and recording it in
, a studio with other musicians was not a sllnple
process for Bush-Harris, but it was gratifying.
"When you stop fighting you imagination, then you can start benefiting from it. Everything on the! CD, I saw in my mind. It's like magic to me when I see it."
While Bush-Harris continues to sing, DB Ministries, her grassroots, nonprofit project to "build people and build churches" helps churches better represent themselves to those seeking a spiritual home.
"I've been helped, and now I want to help people. I want to build people first, then churches. It's time to operate in purpose, if we are going to affect change. People are a purpose."
Although today she exudes confidence, that wasn't
always the case.
Before leading a praise worship for the first time, she recalls hiding in the ladies room until her mother coaxed her out.
"I didn't want to at first," she said, "but when I finally went up and led worship, it was as if a warm blanket came down on my shoulders. I had help and felt like this was a part of me."
