Born To Succeed!
An Impacting, Motivational, Performing Arts
Contribution to Academic Achievement
(Created Especially for
Partnership with Educators)
The Problem
Numerous studies suggest that there is a relationship
between self-esteem and academic achievement.
When students have low self-esteem, they may have difficulty
concentrating, remembering terms, taking standardized tests, and handling
academic and social problem-solving tasks.
Test anxiety and self concept contribute independently and approximately
equally to student academic achievement and performance. There is a clear need to improve student
confidence and attitudes about academic achievement and increase their
motivation for doing well at school, on tests, and in life.
The Solution
The “Born to Succeed” program offers a practical solution to
the problems associated with self-image, lack of motivation, academic
achievement, and test anxiety. Through
the use of music, visuals, training, mentoring, interactive performances,
classroom resources, and motivational speaking, the “Born to Succeed” program
can increase positive self-concept and decrease anxiety levels in
children. This can lead to improvements
in school attendance, test scores, and the over-all well-being of elementary
students.
The Options
Schools and organizations can choose optional variations of
the “Born to Succeed” program to fit their individual needs:
Schools and
organizations may work directly with the author of the “Born to Succeed”
program, Diana Bush-Harris, to customize an individual plan that works best for
their specific needs and students.
NOTE: Diana Bush-Harris, as executive producer and
publisher, grants a “Master Rights Usage” license to interested schools and
organizations. This license grants an
exclusive right to use the song and DVD with exclusive understanding that these
items will not be duplicated. The
license is good for an entire school year or project.

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is a letter of recommendation for
Diana Bush-Harris. We became acquainted
with Diana in the spring of 2007. Our
school was working on a grant to focus on reducing stress about I-STEP for our
students. From the first contact with
Diana, Her response was impressive.
Information was found about her on a website for Indiana artists. We received an immediate and enthusiastic
response from her about her willingness to work with us.
Our grant was approved by the Beech Grove
Education Foundation, but we only received only a fourth of our request. Diana agreed to work with us, even though we
could not compensate her as we had hoped.
Since we had to make adjustments in our proposal, we continued to be
impressed with her flexibility, understanding and generosity.
Diana wrote a beautiful song for us, “Born to
Succeed.” She allowed our school to have
a copy of the CD so that our music teacher could teach the song to our
students. This also demonstrated her
caring and generosity since Diana could have rightfully maintained exclusive
rights for use. Once again going above
and beyond what was asked of her; she also presented a PowerPoint presentation
of “Born to Succeed” and spoke with our students in an encouraging and
uplifting manner.
Both our teachers and students loved the song and
the convocation. We also found the song
to be an important part of our success with our I-STEP stress reduction program.
We are hoping to have the funds next
year to again use the song in our music classes and to invite Diana back to
speak with our children.
Diana Bush-Harris is not only a very talented
songwriter and singer; she is truly a professional in every sense of the
word. She is very timely in her
correspondence and in completing the work at hand. Our school has benefited from the talents and
time that Diana offered to us. We are
certain that other schools will also benefit from her work.
Sincerely,
Tom Terlep, Principal Trudi Wolfe, MS
