The words powerful, soulful, and unforgettable are three words that best describe one of the world's most stirring and passionate singer, songwriter and motivators, Diana Bush-Harris!
Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Diana's sultry voice is reminiscent of Helen Baylor and Oleta Adams, but her unique, individual fire has earned her the name "Sista Praise" by those who have witnessed her unique ability to rivet and draw her audiences into whatever she does, be it singing, writing plays, songs, or motivating and challenging others. In worship settings, she successfully blends contemporary sounds intertwined with overlays of her trademark praise & worship style with a hint of a traditional music. She is often accompanied by gifted background singers whose vocals soar to the forefront and lead its listeners back to meaningful relationships based on Truth.
Diana’s commitment to her purpose found her as lead vocalist, Songwriter and Executive Producer of her freshman project, entitled “By My God”. Her passion, musical ability and love for God is apparent in this extraordinary CD which promises something for every musical taste. It includes hit songs with a jazzy, rhythm and blues feel like, “If I”, contemporary/traditional hot praise, worship, like “It’s a Pleasure to Say Yes”, and even rap. And she certainly didn’t forget those who love a catchy quartet groove with “Praise is a Pavillion.”
Her most recent effort includes a unique, a non-traditional approach to sharing her gifts, and is experiencing rapidly growing success. Diana has begun to partner with schools currently at the elementary level to create an atmosphere of support, confidence and relaxation that makes learning easier.
"Born to Succeed" is a program she and committed supporters have developed and termed "Performing Arts’ Contribution to Academic Success".
It includes a music message, DVD presentation reinforcing its message,
Complete with interactive classroom activities that builds self confidence through positive neurological stimulants.
“Music is a universal language that penetrates our consciousness even without our consent.” I made a commitment to use mine for positive causes”, says Diana.
Diana has even more recently developed the same concept to help teach diversity which she launched at Park Tudor this year entitled
“One Earth” complete with live actors, (upon request) who paint the message as she sings experientially and instructively.
She is an exceptional writer on the inspirational level and performs in both religious and A-religious settings indicating “Many times we are simply enforcing and enhancing what has already been taught.”
